A good news story from Action for Blind People

Sheila, a successful property lawyer, was registered blind after suffering her second stroke. Life in a women's refuge meant she was in a state of total despair until she came into contact with Action for Blind People.

Here at Action we think sight loss shouldn't hold you back. As Sheila says, 'I'm a fighter and won’t be beaten by anything.' It is thanks to your generous support we are able to help people like Sheila live as independently as possible.

One call to Action ensures that visually impaired people receive help with anything from finding a job , applying for benefits , housing issues , assistive technology , holiday breaks or information on local services .

Listen to a podcast with Geoff

Geoff has cone-rod dystrophy. As his sight became progressively worse, he had to abandon his career and reconsider his future. 'I had to stop. I was washed ashore as an unemployed person.'
