Care and welfare
It is our policy to safeguard the welfare of all children on Action for Blind People organised events. We appreciate the concerns of parents when their children are away from home and we take the responsibility of being 'in loco parentis' ('in the place of a parent') very seriously indeed.
The safety and enjoyment of each individual on our schemes is our prime concern. All the venues used during the Vacation Scheme have been carefully selected by a member of Action staff and checked for suitability and safety.
Wherever possible, we reflect ethnicity in our staff recruitment, and ensure our workers understand and take into account cultural, ethnic and religious diversity.
We will, wherever possible, support individual requirements that can be encompassed within the schemes without disadvantaging others.
